3 mistakes you’re making with your web copy

Web copy is a complex beast

That’s because it’s got a lot on its plate.

🤓 Capturing your audience’s attention

🤓 Communicating why you’re the one

🤓 Leading them through a conversion journey

🤓 Sweet-talking the Google machine

(Notice how I put that last? It’s super important, of course, but if your optimisation makes the copy unpalatable for humans — Google won’t like it either)

Here are three of the mistakes I see over and over (and some actions you can take to fix them!)

😭 Forgetting about SEO

It matters, people. And it’s tricky. I always recommend my clients come to me with keyword research — done by a professional. I recommend Nat Alleblas.

This gives us an understanding of which keywords to target on each page. And it's based on what actual humans are looking for on Google. Remember, the ONLY way to rank for most keywords is by consistently targeting them in your web copy and content.

💥 Bottom line: keyword research (and a copywriter who know how to use them) can go a long way to improving your ranking.

😭 Too much jargon

People. Just…stop. If professional jargon interferes with the user’s ability to know WTF you’re on about, they’ll just scroll on.

Writing in plain English makes your work more accessible (and generally ditches some of the wanker vibes that accompany jargon-filled pages).

💥 Download my FREE conversational copy e-book if you want to give it a crack.

And if you can’t be arsed, why not book a discovery call with yours truly? I'll get you sorted — so you can concentrate on what YOU do best.

😭 Ignoring mobile copywriting

We’re all reading more and more content on our phones. So don’t forget to optimise with thumb-stopping visual design.

This means:

💥 Strong, scannable headlines

💥 Short paragraph sections

💥 Ditch unnecessary words

Give these tips a go, chickens. Or better yet — find a copywriter that you jive with and outsource that shit.
